Ngorongoro Crater –6th of March 2025

After indulging in a delectable buffet breakfast today, we will embark on an exhilarating Ngorongoro Crater safari, complete with a packed picnic lunch on the crater floor.

Our descent of 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater floor will lead us to a habitat teeming with vast populations of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle, as well as a significant number of lions and hyenas.

In addition to these incredible creatures, the Ngorongoro Crater is also home to an array of other fascinating animals, including rhinoceros, leopards, hippopotamus, eland, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, flamingos, ostriches, jackals, and much more.

We will pause for a midday picnic lunch by the lake, which boasts an abundance of birdlife and distant sightings of hippos. Our safari adventure will draw to a close as we return to the lodge at around 4:00 PM.

Ndutu – 7th of March 2025

After breakfast we check out of Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge and pass through the scenic great rift valley on the drive to the Ndutu-Serengeti region. This area is known as the Ngorongoro Conservation area which is one of the few remaining places where the Masai tribes live amongst wild animals. On this scenic drive you can expect to see lots of Masai villages, Masia people herding their sheep, goats and cattle, along with wild zebras and giraffes.

Along the way we stop at a Masai Village tour where we will have the opportunity to be shown the way the Masai people live their lives.

We will arrive in Ndutu around lunchtime where we will check into the stunning Lake Masek Tented Camp.

After lunch we will embark on our first game drive in Lake Masek. It will be the peak of the calving season for most herbivore species such as zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and more. Also the great migration is passing through this time of year, so there will be plenty of prey animals and the carnivores such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena will be more active.

Ndutu – 8th of March 2025

After breakfast we take a full day game drive in Ndutu with a packed picnic lunch. We will follow the herds of the great migration which consists of an estimated 1.5 million wildebeest, 650,000 zebra and 350,000 thompsons gazelle. We will also keep an eye out for predators, also expect to see giraffe, cape buffalo and more.

  • Lake Masek Tented Camp
  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Serengeti – 9th of March 2025

After breakfast, we depart Ndutu and venture towards the Serengeti for the next leg of our Tanzania safari tour.

As the Serengeti is the best place to see big cats in Tanzania, the chances of seeing lions and even cheetah on the journey are very high.

Around 4:00 pm, we will arrive at our lodge so you can relax in your spacious room or the outdoor vanishing horizon pool before dinner.

Serengeti – 10th & 11th of March 2025

Known by many as ‘big cat country’, central Seronera is the park’s most popular destination for group safaris in Tanzania. It has the biggest variety of accommodation in the park and offers the best chance to see big cats like lions, cheetahs, and elusive leopards in the wild.

Despite large numbers of predators, herbivores like diminutive impala and towering elephants are also abundant in Serengeti National Park and you may just spot them grazing amongst the kopjes and acacia trees.

On these days, we take either two game drives – one after breakfast between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and one late afternoon from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm – or a full day game drive from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Either way, you can expect lots of sunshine, warm temperatures and clear views across the savannah thanks to the dry season’s thinner vegetation.

For an extra cost, you may wish to take a hot air balloon ride to experience an aerial view of the Serengeti plains, followed by a lavish champagne bush breakfast.

12th of March 2025

Following breakfast, we will enjoy one final brief game drive before catching a short flight from Serengeti to Kilimanjaro in the late morning, to connect with your flight home. If your next destination’s flight schedule permits, you may opt to extend your stay by an additional night in Arusha or Kilimanjaro. Furthermore, I strongly suggest considering the addition of a few extra nights in Zanzibar to your itinerary, and I would be pleased to provide you with quotes upon request.
