It will be hot so you may wish to transfer to Sarova’s nearby Taita Hills Lodge for a swim in the pool or stay at Salt Lick Lodge and keep a watchful eye on the waterhole from your room, the underground hide or one of the four viewing decks as animals will likely be coming in for a drink.

Masai Mara

The Masai Mara is filled with wildlife which we search for over the next two days. Also this particular area has large clans of hyena’s and with approximately 36 prides of lion the Masai Mara is arguably the best place to see lions in the wild. The Talek and Mara rivers have many pods if hippopotamus and are home to the largest nile crocodiles in Africa.

All of Africa’s big 5 are found here. Unfortunately, there are not as many elephants as Tsavo, However, there are a lot more lions and cheetah which we will likely see every day. There is also a very high density of zebra, wildebeest, topi, Thompsons gazelle, masai giraffe, hartebeest, warthog and much more.

We recommend take a full day game drive from 8:00am until 4:00pm with a picnic lunch on your first full day. On the second full day game drives between 8:00am to 12:00pm and 3:30pm to 6:30pm. However you can plan your safari times with your driver as they are flexible.
