Descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, we will enter a vibrant habitat teeming with an extraordinary variety of wildlife. Vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam the crater floor, creating a dynamic ecosystem that supports a significant population of hyenas. The crater is renowned as one of the prime locations to observe lions, often seen lounging in the grass or near water sources.
In addition to these remarkable creatures, the Ngorongoro Crater hosts a diverse array of fascinating wildlife. You’ll have the chance to see the critically endangered black rhinoceros, a rare sighting that makes the crater particularly special. Leopards, although elusive, are occasionally spotted in the Lerai Forest area, adding an element of excitement to our adventure. Hippopotamuses can be seen wallowing in the crater’s lakes and swamps, while majestic elephants, often older males with impressive tusks, wander through the landscape.
The crater is also home to eland, the largest antelope species, and cape buffalos, known for their imposing presence. Warthogs scurry through the grasslands, and you might catch a glimpse of the resident jackals on the prowl. The birdlife in the crater is equally spectacular, with over 500 species recorded. Flamingos create a stunning spectacle around the crater lakes, joined by ostriches, crowned cranes, and a multitude of other avian species.

Serengeti
The Serengeti is ranked as the best place to go on safari, and you are about to see why.
Known as “Big Cat Country,” central Seronera in Serengeti National Park is a premier destination for group safaris in Tanzania. This region boasts the park’s largest variety of accommodations and offers the best opportunities to observe big cats like lions, cheetahs, and the elusive leopards in their natural habitat.
Despite the high concentration of predators, the Serengeti is also home to an abundance of herbivores. Graceful impalas and towering elephants can often be seen grazing among the park’s iconic kopjes and acacia trees. September, in particular, is an excellent time to visit, as the dry season provides clear views across the savannah and abundant wildlife activity. The thinner vegetation during this period makes it easier to spot animals, and the warm temperatures and sunny days enhance the safari experience.
During our stay, we’ll embark on either two game drives—one in the morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and another in the late afternoon from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM—or a full-day game drive from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. These game drives offer unparalleled opportunities to witness the rich biodiversity of the Serengeti, from the agile movements of cheetahs to the majestic presence of elephants.
For an added thrill, consider taking a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti plains. This unforgettable experience provides a unique aerial perspective of the park’s vast landscapes, followed by a lavish champagne bush breakfast, making it a truly memorable addition to your safari adventure.
